Perineoplasty/Vagina
Perineoplasty is an operative procedure that is performed when the inlet to the vagina is damaged. In some cases, the walls of the vagina and the perineum are stretched as in the case of a difficult childbirth, at times due to tearing or with episiotomy during the passage of the head through the vagina and surrounding soft tissues of the pelvic floor.
If only the vagina is affected, a vaginoplasty is performed. However, in the majority of cases, we usually repair the whole area completely, i.e. the vagina and perineum together.
In particular, the following women can benefit from this procedure:
- Delivered by vaginal birth
- Feel loosening of the vagina during intercourse
- Diminished excitability when stimulating the vagina
- Difficulty emptying stools
- Air penetration into the vagina and from the vagina
- Have undergone intense physiotherapy without satisfactory results.
