When intimate changes affect your comfort

Some changes are hard to talk about, yet they can stay with you during sport, in everyday life and during intimacy. It may be chafing of the labia, an uncomfortable scar after childbirth or a change in the vaginal opening. Sometimes it is mainly the appearance that bothers you, at other times a feeling of discomfort. You can come to us with either.

Every woman’s intimate area is different, and there is no single right shape. At the consultation, we therefore start from what bothers you and what you would like to change. We assess both appearance and function and, where there are after-effects of childbirth, the condition of the deeper tissues as well. We explain which options may be considered, what you can expect from the procedure and what its limitations are. The consultation does not commit you to a procedure.

Procedures we perform most often

• Labiaplasty — adjusting the size and shape of the labia minora and, in selected cases, the skin folds around the clitoral hood.
• Adjustment of the labia majora.
• Vaginoplasty — adjusting the vagina and its supporting tissues according to the specific findings.
• Perineoplasty — plastic repair of the perineum, for example for a troublesome scar or the after-effects of a birth injury.

Care tailored to your wishes and the specific findings

We plan the extent of the procedure individually. We perform selected minor procedures in our own procedure room. The type of anesthesia and where the procedure takes place depend on its extent and your health; we will discuss the details with you in advance.

When you are deciding, we also explain how healing goes and the possible risks, such as bleeding, infection, scarring or a change in sensitivity. It is important that you have a realistic idea of the result and time to think everything over.
