Labiaplasty

If the size or shape of your labia minora causes you discomfort, we can discuss surgical reshaping together. We’ll explain how the procedure works, the anesthesia options and what healing involves.

Labia minora reshaping tailored to your needs, performed in our own operating room under local anesthesia

The labia minora naturally vary in shape, size, color and symmetry. There is no single correct appearance of the intimate area. But if they cause you discomfort when moving, from rubbing against underwear or during intercourse, or if you have long been considering a change in their appearance, you can talk it over with us.

During the consultation, we’ll talk about what bothers you and what you would like to change. We’ll explain which changes are realistic and what risks they carry. The decision must be based on your own needs and wishes.

Each procedure is planned individually

Labiaplasty can change the size or shape of the labia minora. Sometimes it also involves the adjoining skin folds around the clitoral hood. The choice of technique depends on your anatomy, the quality of the tissue and the planned extent.

In the wedge technique, a wedge-shaped section of tissue is removed. This allows a reduction while preserving part of the original edge and its appearance.

In the linear technique, excess tissue is removed along the free edge, creating a new contour. It may be suitable for certain irregularities or for reshaping the edge itself.

The composite technique combines several approaches and allows individual parts of the labia to be adapted to the specific findings. No technique is automatically the best for every woman.

Reshaping the area around the clitoris

If appropriate, selected skin folds around the clitoral hood can also be reshaped, either together with labiaplasty or on their own. More extensive reshaping, including techniques described by Professor Gress, requires detailed individual planning.

The work involves the surrounding tissues, not the clitoris itself. The area has a delicate nerve and blood supply. That is one more reason why the risk of changes in sensation and the limits of the planned reshaping need to be discussed in advance.

What to expect from healing

We’ll explain the type of anesthesia, where the scars will be and how to care for yourself at home. After the procedure, you will have temporary swelling, soreness and light bleeding. Your return to sport and intimate life depends on how healing progresses and on your surgeon’s advice, not just on the number of days since the operation.

Possible risks include infection, bleeding, wound breakdown, a more noticeable scar, asymmetry, changes in sensation or pain during intercourse. The result may differ from what you imagined, and sometimes another procedure is needed. Neither perfect symmetry nor an improved sexual experience can be guaranteed.

Contact us if you have increasing pain, a fever, heavy bleeding or problems with healing.

You can come for a consultation even if you’re still deciding. We’ll go through the options and give you room to think everything over. What matters is that you make your decision with a realistic idea of both the benefits and the healing.
