Physiotherapy for functional infertility — the Mojžíšová method

For some functional difficulties related to getting pregnant, care may include physiotherapy based on the Ludmila Mojžíšová method. We’ll explain when it makes sense and how the exercises work.

This rehabilitation method arose from the long practice of the nurse Ludmila Mojžíšová in treating vertebrogenic difficulties (back pain) and functional infertility. Infertility treatment was initially a side effect, but after a period during which Mrs Mojžíšová refined the method, it became its main indication.

The method is based on reflex influence on the neuromuscular apparatus of the pelvic floor using movement treatment of the lumbar spine, sacrum, pelvis, coccyx and muscles, which affects their mutual position. Gentle mobilization of the pelvis, spine, ribs and coccyx is performed, along with release and stretching of shortened muscles and strengthening of weakened ones.

How the therapy works

  1. 01Kinesiological analysisAt the first visit we carry out a kinesiological analysis and guide the therapy according to its results.
  2. 02Exercise at homeAn important part is the daily exercise prescribed by the physiotherapist.
  3. 03Regular check-upsAt the next visit we check progress and perform further necessary mobilizations. Clients attend regularly.

Indications

  • Functional sterility
  • Vertebrogenic difficulties — pain in the back, pelvis, coccyx or large joints
  • Gynecological problems — painful menstruation, discomfort during sex
  • Urological problems — urinary incontinence, urinary retention
